A New Front Emerges
“Si vis pacem, para bellum” – “If you want peace, prepare for war.” Yet the wars of our time are no longer fought solely with weapons of steel. Invisible but equally powerful, a new front is forming—an ideological, philosophical one. Here, weapons forged from the thinkers and theories of both past and present come into play. AI is employed to sharpen these arguments, making them even more dangerous.
The “Dark Enlightenment” is one such movement. It resembles a quiet rumbling beneath the surface, a force that is shaping and gathering momentum. Its ideas, often radical and driven by technology, merge with the fortresses of the New Right—constructed by thinkers like Dugin, Sellner, and Kubitschek. Together, they seem to form an alliance, supporting each other. This alliance leads to a movement ready to challenge the existing order, even willing to destroy it. Their aim is to replace the current global order with one based on control, coercion, slavery, and nihilism—partitioned into a multipolar world of spheres of influence.
But this is not a war that can be observed from a safe distance. In this war, words are the weapons, and the battlefield is discourse. Fear is stirred, doubt is sown, principles are questioned, and institutions along with the societal order are deconstructed. This new alliance is diverse, with each of its representatives bringing their own discipline: whether philosophy, political theory, or aesthetics. They know where to strike, and therein lies their strength.
For those standing in the midst of this ideological battle, the question arises: Are we mere spectators or already unconscious participants? How does one prepare for such a conflict? The answer doesn’t lie in weapon stockpiles, but in the strength of our convictions, arguments, and values. What can we counter these attacks with? And what vision of a better society do we carry within us?
Ultimately, it’s not just a conflict over how the world should be shaped, but also a struggle for the core of our identity—as individuals, as a community, as a species. Preparing for this ideological war demands that we examine our convictions, sharpen our arguments, and muster the courage to defend our values.
It is what Lapis Trubezkoy conveyed: воина света – a battle for light, a struggle for the good in the world.
